Dr. Naila Inammdar is a spoken English and corporate communication trainer, content writer, editor, and published poet based in Surat, Gujarat, with over 20 years of professional experience. She holds a PhD in English Language and Literature and a Cambridge TEFL certification, has trained financial advisors pan-India in spoken English and soft skills, served as Content Head and Editor for Estate Power Magazine, and has run her own practice, NeelsEdit, since 2013.
In 2007, the job was standing in front of a room of financial advisors at NJ Gurukul and teaching them to say, out loud, in one sentence, why someone should trust them with their money.
Six years of that taught her the core of communication: a message only works if a real person can say it, out loud, under pressure, to a stranger.
By 2014, the room had changed. Estate Power Magazine needed someone who could take a real estate market thick with jargon and translate it into something readers would understand, while she trained the writers underneath her to sound clear and confident.
Somewhere in those overlapping years — training pan-India, editing a magazine, writing for a consultancy — she noticed the same fault line everywhere. It was never that people didn’t have ideas. It was that they’d been taught to hesitate before they spoke them.
Most teams do not need a style guide — they need permission to speak directly, and someone to show them how to hold their ground in a conversation.
In 2013, she started NeelsEdit — a practice built around exactly that instinct. Spoken English training, communication coaching, editing, and content development for students and businesses across industries.
A workshop with her is not a lecture. It is a space to practice saying what you actually mean, out loud, until the hesitation is gone.
Nobody leaves with a slide deck of rules. Everyone leaves knowing how to command a room, pitch an idea, or handle a difficult conversation.
These trainings do not teach grammar. They teach teams to recognize what they are trying to say, find the clearest way to speak it, and deliver it with confidence. Learning to write better is just a natural by-product.
Nineteen years across a training room, an editorial desk, a consultancy, and a practice of her own taught her the same thing every time: people already have the words. They just need someone to show them how to use them out loud.
She still writes poetry between all of it — because the discipline of saying something true in the clearest possible way is, in the end, the same discipline she teaches every team that walks into her room.
